I. Introduction

The Ciechanow Research Group is dedicated to serving as an
information-gathering vehicle and clearinghouse for Jewish genealogical
as well as historical information relating to the Jewish community in
and around Ciechanow, Poland. The material gathered will be made
available via a Ciechanow Web page. We have established this mailing
list in order to facilitate communication among individuals of similar
interests.

The mailing list will be moderated and will follow the guidelines for
"netiquette" established for the JewishGen Discussion Group, as well as
for all of the mailing lists hosted by JewishGen. 
Please review the guidelines for posting messages at

particularly the section on "netiquette."

The success of our project depends our ability to gather a significant
amount of relevant material. Have a look at our test Web page, which may

From this you will get ideas about what kinds of content we are looking
for. We would be happy to receive any relevant material you may be
willing to submit, including (but not limited to) photographs,
translations from the Ciechanow Yizkor Book, business directories, and
firsthand anecdotes of life in Ciechanow.
