JewishGen education

Creating KehilaLinks Web Pages

This annual class is for people who want to learn how to create a web site for their ancestral town on KehilaLinks. All you need to participate is some basic computer skills, a computer, and a few spare hours a week for 6 weeks. By the end of the class you will have a complete site that you can upload to KehilaLinks and continue to update on your own.

The class is web based and self-paced. Each week the instructor posts one or two lessons for you to do on your own time. Students ask questions through an on-line discussion forum. In each lesson you will refine your site, adding more and more features.

The class uses a free, simple-to-use web page editor program that runs on both PCs (all versions of Windows) and Macs (OSX 10.2 or later).

Requirements:

We recommend that you begin the process of "reserving" your Kehila before the class begins. Visit http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/documentation/signup.asp for instructions.

The tuition is $36 (this is not one of the free classes for Value Added JewishGen donors). You can pay online by clicking on the Enroll Link when it appears (usually 2 weeks before class is scheduled to begin). If you have any questions, please email the instructor, Mark Heckman
