Frequent
contributor and great friend of the Belarus SIG,
Vitaly Charny, found this budget for the City of Minsk, 1877, in the
newspaper "Minskie Gubernskie
Vedomosti" .
Since Jews comprised a significant proportion of the population,
perhaps as much as half, this budget certainly affected some of our
ancestors, at least as taxpayers.
The nature of the items listed for income and expenditures also gives
us a glimpse into some aspects of their lives.
